MICHAEL STACK – LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN AND MOTHERS, FRIEND, AND FAITHFUL SERVANT OF GOD

A family-oriented lover of the outdoors, Michael was a biking enthusiast, artist, and tireless servant of Christ. Michael devoted his time and energy to his faith, his family, and his passionate love of unborn children. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family at his home in Royal Oak on August 14, 2014.

Michael Stack was born on July 24, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan, to John Patrick and Martha (Laughlin) Stack. He graduated from Sacred Heart Seminary and soon afterward enrolled in William Beaumont Hospital Radiology Technology School, where he met Margaret Brennan. They married on July 6, 1973, had four children, and were happily married for 41 years until his death.

Most important to Michael was building his family on a foundation of faith. He was a loving father to Mary Stack, Patrick (Amber) Stack, Ellen (Will) Dart, and Anne Stack. He was grandfather of Danny, Liam, Michael, Brennan, Maggie, Finn, and Rose. He was also proud to count Dale Brennan and many other nieces and nephews as his own. He was the brother of Anne Marie (Harry) Tillotson, James, Theresa (John) Slevin, and the late John (Karlene) Stack, and Joseph Stack.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond and Sons (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, on Monday, August 18, 2014, from 2:00-8:00pm. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00pm.

Resurrection Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at 10:00a.m. at National Shrine of the Little Flower Roman Catholic Church, 2100 West 12 Mile Rd. (at Woodward), Royal Oak. Visitation at the Church begins Tuesday at 9:00am.
