Elizabeths's Obituary

Elizabeth Melvina Edwards passed away August 4, 2021. She was 84 years old. Elizabeth was born, November 13, 1936 in Detroit to Alec and Loretta Fournier. She attended St Rita School in Detroit from 3rd grade until graduation from high school.

A devout Catholic, Elizabeth attended daily mass for many years and volunteered for several organizations. Among the organizations especially dear to her was Hospice, Mother and Unborn Baby Care and a Poverty Food Program.

Elizabeth was an excellent seamstress, sewing most of her young children's clothes as well as clothes for herself. She also sewed several wedding gowns for family and friends and ran an upholstery business out of her home for a long time. There was often a couch or chair being torn apart or put back together in her family room.

A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Elizabeth was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Catherine (Thomas) Wojcik, Diane (Joseph) Zugaj, Cynthia (Mark) Fink and Daniel Edwards and grandchildren, Kristen, Andrew, Sarah, Emily, Julie, Kelly, and Joseph. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Claire and Benjamin. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her daughters, Annmarie Edwards and Patricia Everett, grandson, Daniel and brother, James Fournier.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads) Sunday, August 8th, 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23815 Power Road, Farmington, Monday, August 9th at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.
